Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 19, 2026
Nomia is a baby name discovery product. This policy explains what information we collect when you use trynomia.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We've tried to write this plainly. If anything is unclear, email us — the contact is at the bottom.
1. Who We Are
Nomia is a product operated by Ohlson Ads LLC ("we," "us," "Nomia," or "the company"). This policy covers the trynomia.com website and any related services we offer at that domain.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly
- Email address — when you complete the quiz, sign up, or respond to an exit-intent capture.
- Quiz answers — your responses to the naming questionnaire (gender preference, style, cultural background, vibe, sound preferences, meaning themes, birth season).
- Saved names — names you heart or save to your dashboard.
- Swipe activity — names you keep or discard when using Swipe mode.
- Payment information — if you purchase a paid tier, you enter payment details directly with Stripe. We do not see or store your card number. We receive confirmation of payment, your email address, and a transaction reference.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, time on page, clicks, scroll depth, referring site, general approximate location (derived from IP, not precise location).
- Device data — browser type, operating system, screen size, language preference.
- Cookies and similar technologies — used for analytics, session persistence, and advertising (see Section 6).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate personalized name recommendations via the Claude AI API (Anthropic).
- Deliver your quiz results and saved names to you by email.
- Process payments for paid tiers.
- Send follow-up emails (for example, curated name updates or tips) if you've given us your email.
- Improve the product — understand which quiz paths users enjoy, which names resonate, where users drop off.
- Show relevant advertising on free pages of the site (once we've been approved by our advertising partners).
- Comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and prevent fraud or abuse.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We share information with the following service providers strictly to operate Nomia:
- Anthropic — quiz answers are sent to the Claude API to generate personalized name recommendations. Anthropic processes this data under its own terms.
- Supabase — our database provider. Your email, quiz answers, saved names, and usage records are stored here.
- Stripe — handles all payment processing. We share your email with Stripe only to associate a payment with your account.
- Brevo — our email marketing provider. Emails and signup timestamps are stored here to deliver your results and any follow-up sequences.
- Vercel — our hosting provider. Standard server logs may be retained briefly for diagnostic purposes.
- Google Analytics — anonymized traffic and usage analytics. IP addresses are handled per Google's data settings (email and URL query parameters containing identifiers are redacted before being sent to Google).
- Google AdSense — when active, displays advertising on free pages. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymized session recordings and heatmaps used to improve the product experience.
We may also share information if required by law, a valid legal process, or to protect our rights, safety, or the rights and safety of users.
5. Third-Party Advertising
When our advertising is active, third parties including Google may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this website and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at google.com/settings/ads or the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page at optout.aboutads.info.
6. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in between visits (session persistence).
- Measure traffic and usage via Google Analytics.
- Understand session behavior via Microsoft Clarity.
- Serve advertising via Google AdSense when active.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Doing so may affect your experience — for example, you may be signed out between sessions. For details, check your browser's help documentation.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as you have an active account or as needed to provide the service. If you request deletion, we remove your personal information from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required to keep it (for example, payment records required for tax or accounting purposes). Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months per our Google Analytics configuration.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal information.
- Opt out of marketing emails — click the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
- Do Not Sell or Share (California residents) — we do not sell or share personal information, so no action is needed, but you can confirm this with us at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We'll respond within 30 days.
9. Age Restriction
Nomia is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, email us and we'll delete it.
10. International Users
Nomia is operated from the United States. If you access the site from outside the US, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
11. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption in transit, secure cloud infrastructure (Supabase, Vercel), and limited access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we'll notify you by email if we have one on file. Continued use of Nomia after an update means you accept the revised policy.
